Welcome!

Hello hello!

First and foremost, welcome to my blog about my journey, trials, and tribulations through Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas.

I moved to this amazing city on New Year's day. What a way to start off 2013, right? Technically, I wasn't supposed to move until later in January, but then I lost a bet to my roommate/best friend's fiancé, Garrett, on New Year's Eve (Over a game of Rummy. Whoops.) and had to drive to Charlotte.. so why not move my stuff up here at the same time?

This whole plan, however, was very quickly put together. You see, for the past year or so I've been waiting for my husband, who just joined the military, to get through all his schooling and whatnot so we could start our lives together at our first duty station in California.

CA? What are you doing in Charlotte?!! 

Well, long story short, he is now my ex-husband. I've moved on to bigger and better things though, including a new boyfriend who has already proven to be a way better person that my ex ever was. Yay me! 

I promise, everyone, that this is not a rebound hahaha.

So here I am, job searching, living off of separation pay, waiting for my application for UNCC to go through, hanging out with an adorably awkward boy, and living with my cute and lovable friend Lerissa and her fiancé Garrett, and "the ghost roommate" hahaha. No, not Sally from Being Human, although that would be interesting. This roommate is real, and he's very, very sweet (can we say Best Roommate Ever Award?), but he keeps to himself and works crazy long hours. Poor guy.
Sometimes we like to joke that maybe he's a vigilate... or a homicidal maniac. We try to be nice to him so he'll keep us as his alibi.

Anyways, so since I have all this free time and in an area I'm completely new to, I decided I would try to write down all the great and not-so-great experiences I have in my new life.  Perhaps, if you are coming to visit the area, you'll at least get some ideas of where to go while you're here!
